International Collaborations
Collaboration with the CROUS Amiens Picardie
In May 2008, a lively partnership was established between the two Studierendenwerke in Thuringia and Amiens, France. The focus is on the exchange of students and employees, for whom more than 50 one-week meetings have been organized so far. In addition, German and French volunteers who support the Studierendenwerk Thüringen over a period of several months and participate in intercultural projects, gain further knowledge and experience.
All programs not only serve to provide professional and language qualifications, but also offer opportunities for intercultural awareness and an intensive exchange of ideas and experience among the participants.
Collaboration with the Academy of Mining and Metallurgy (AGH) Cracow
Furthermore, the Studierendenwerk Thüringen and the AGH Cracow, Poland, have a long-standing partnership involving mainly cultural and sports exchanges between German and Polish students. Thus, the students get an insight into student life in Poland and Germany and they can experience the German-Polish partnership.
Weimarer Dreieck
The Weimarer Dreieck (Weimar Triangle) originates from a meeting of the foreign ministers of Poland, France and Germany in August 1991 in Weimar, Thuringia. The Studierendenwerk Thüringen, in cooperation with its two partner institutions, organizes trilateral meetings of Polish, French and German students to mark this occasion. These meetings strengthen the cooperation of the three countries on a cultural and civil society level. Here, the focus is on meeting each other. The mutual visits are supplemented by accompanying programs in the university cities to present the study and living conditions in the neighboring countries. Most recently, trinational choir meetings and dance festivals have taken place.
