Upgrade ticket

Students in Eisenach, Gera and Schmalkalden have already paid a fixed amount for the train ticket with their semester fee for the summer semester, and in Gera also for the public transport and VMT ticket. Therefore, they only have to pay the difference up to the price of 49 euros for the Deutschlandticket in order to be able to use the Deutschlandticket for themselves. The conference of federal and state transport ministers agreed on this so-called ‘upgrade solution’.
