Please note: inspections of thoska card when travelling by bus and tram
Students at Friedrich Schiller University and University of Applied Sciences "Ernst Abbe" must hand over their student ID to the inspection staff upon request to check their entitlement to travel. The inspector only reads the eTicket from the student ID card when inspecting the ticket. The validity of the eTicket is displayed electronically during the check. Data on the use of the ticket as well as personal data of the holder of the travel authorisation are not stored when a valid ticket is presented.
If the student ID card (thoska) cannot be read technically, the passenger will be issued with a proof of entitlement to use local transport for a period of seven days. If the respective student presents a valid and readable student ID or a temporary student ID within this period, the incident is settled. If a valid semester ticket is not presented, the matter is considered as travelling without a valid ticket.
